Self-love is the best kind of love and that’s because it not only allows you to gain more for yourself but it also allows you to attract more into your life from others. I manifested my boyfriend due to the personal development work I put in on myself so I can vouch for this work!

Self-love affirmations are just one tool that you can use to gain more love for yourself, but they are far from the only. Yoga played a huge part in my own self-love journey. However, affirmations are the simplest tool.

These affirmations can be used every day and through repeated use, you can expect to have more happiness, confidence, joy and more. You’ll build your self-esteem, know that you are worthy of love, release negative thoughts and welcome in compassion, more consistent positive thoughts and deepen your relationship with yourself and others.

What are affirmations? Do affirmations work?

Affirmations are short statements, like a mantra, that you repeat to overcome self-sabotaging or limiting thoughts. Positive affirmations are phrases that are repeated not just to feel good and raise your vibe but the repetition of them will help you to create new thought beliefs. This is no joke.

Thinking or imagining yourself in a more positive situation can trigger some of the same areas of the brain as it would if the situation were actually real. Plus, using affirmations can switch on the brain’s reward system. This means that affirmations may help you handle pain, emotional and physical, better.

Repeating an affirmation has the power to affect you consciously and unconsciously. So even if an affirmation doesn’t feel like it’s doing anything right away, know that through the process of repetition, you will eventually train your brain to accept what you keep repeating.

Love itself is a very high vibration and it’s not always possible to jump straight to love from common feelings such as shame, unworthiness and guilt that are amongst the lowest vibrations.

In order to work your way up to love it often helps to first focus on acceptance and forgiveness. That being said, there is no harm jumping straight into those higher vibrations! Go with your gut and what feels right for you right now. Tomorrow your mood may be different and you may want to focus on acceptance first.

These affirmations are easy to use and while just repeating them is great, the real key to using affirmations successfully is how you feel when saying them.

Yes, you may not feel like you truly believe the statement at first, but can you tap into that feeling, even if just for a moment? This is where the real power of using affirmations on self-love is. Dive into the feeling for yourself. Even if you don’t feel it quite yet, it will come and it will get stronger, but you must believe that it’s coming or that you already have that feeling (which you do!).

Perhaps place your hands where you feel yourself holding onto negative or opposite self-beliefs of what you’re trying to cultivate and allow yourself to let go of it while you repeat the affirmation.

Every morning, evening or both, take time to physically write out your top 5-10 affirmations. Actually writing instead of typing is quite powerful and will help you connect more with yourself.
