If there’s one thing humans like to do, it’s to make things more complicated than they need to be. And we’re damn good at it. In reality, most things (including the best things) in life are often the most simple things to do.
When it comes to raising your vibration, we often get trapped in thinking that we have to sit down and meditate or get somewhere quiet, which is simple, but not always realistic to do in every situation.
And while meditation is absolutely wonderful and has a lot of benefits, there are even easier ways to raise your vibration that you can do at any time and anywhere. These 5 simple tools are the core of your toolbox to help you change your mood quick, to help you get out of a funk, bad mood or slump and have you feeling better in seconds.
5 ways to raise your vibration
This article was originally recorded as a podcast so you can opt to listen or watch!
One of the most overlooked ways to raise your frequency and quickly is through music. Sound has a powerful effect on humans as music is quite literally vibrations and listening to certain vibrations will help you to raise your vibe.
Studies have been done to prove that music really can change your mood and even goes as far as to act as a type of therapy not only to help boost your mood but to help relieve anxiety and stress.
The great thing is that music is available to you all the time. So the next time you’re feeling down, put on your favourite playlist and feel the benefits of sound healing through music in seconds.
I preach about using movement as a tool to increase your vibration all the time because I believe that is absolutely necessary in order to release low vibe emotions. Without releasing the lower vibe emotions, how are you expecting the higher vibes to come in?
It’s like getting a new couch, the old couch has to be moved out in order to make room for the new.
Movement allows you to move energy that is stagnant or trapped in your body. It allows you to let go of worries, anxiety, stress and more. And I know I don’t need to link to a study to prove that exercise has been linked to boosting your mood, it’s just common knowledge now.
But a full workout isn’t needed in order your raise your energy. While I’m a huge fan of yoga, simple movement such as walking is great too. And if you need something even quicker, have a dance party!
Close your eyes, turn on some music (now you’re using two tools!) and just let your body move however it wants to the music. That is just pure magic and I guarantee you’ll feel better in seconds.
3. Appreciation & gratitude
Gratitude and appreciation have the same frequency and practicing either really does change your mood. It can be as simple as saying thank you or sending a text to a friend telling them how much you appreciate them.
Practicing gratitude and showing your appreciation takes so little effort but because it’s not a habit people struggle to continuously do it. But if you’re dedicated to raising your vibrational frequency you can do this so easily and at any point during your day to feel its benefits immediately.
I love this video that shows how writing a letter of appreciation to someone raises happiness levels and then taking it a step further and calling the person that the letter was written to and reading it to them raises happiness levels for both people.
4. Smiling and laughing
This is the easiest tool to use to change your vibration and all it takes is you reminding yourself to do it, and that’s to smile! It doesn’t matter if you’re grumpy or sad or moody AF, taking a second just to smile can actually trick your brain into believing you’re happier.
Just like scowling can make you feel more serious and frowning can make you feel sadder.
And the same goes for laughing when you laugh you release feel-good hormones and feel a boost in happiness!
If you want to laugh pull up a funny video on YouTube or scroll through your favourite meme account on Instagram for a good chuckle and feel the benefits pretty damn quick!
5. Change your surroundings
This tool is one that people often have excuses for, claiming that they can’t change their surroundings, but I encourage you to ask yourself if you’re overcomplicating it.
You don’t need to change your surroundings permanently, it can just be for a couple of minutes, just to get you out of the space you’re in momentarily.
If you’re at work, taking a minute to walk to the bathroom or just up and down the hallway a couple of times can do wonders.
For me, I work from home and if I work from home everyday or in the same room, I go crazy. I often head to a coffee shop to work to change things up, get inspired by new surroundings and to boost my mood so I don’t get sick of working in the same place all the time.
The best way to change your vibration with surroundings though is to connect to nature. If you can, get outside, breathe in fresh air, hug a tree if you’re feeling called to, brush the bark with your fingertips or take off your shoes and feel the blades of grass on your skin.
Nature has also been proven to change your mood by helping you become kinder, happier and more creative.
The biggest takeaway of this article is to prove to you that you can change your vibration immediately and with simple practices.
If you think you’re going to forget to practice these raising your vibrational frequency tools then add reminders on your phone or computer in your calendar or set alarms that simply remind you to move, smile, put on some music, get outside or take a moment to appreciate gratitude.
Enjoy your day dear reader, and may your days be filled with high vibration thoughts, good energy and so much bliss!
