Personal development, personal growth, self-improvement, self-help…whatever you want to call it. The idea of working on ourselves, of bettering ourselves, our being our best self is both fabulous and can be harmful.
I am all for personal growth and have personally changed into a kinder, nicer, better human being because of it. But I also got to the point where I worked on myself so much that I stopped taking the time to appreciate where I always was. I forgot to give myself a break, to relax, to enjoy myself and life as it was.
